Bio

 Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Fernando Aponte began piano and music theory studies at age 12.
Later, he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Music Composition
while taking additional courses in
electronic music and recording at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, graduating in 1986.
Living in New York since 1990, he was staff engineer at Platinum Island Studios and Axis Studios
before becoming a freelance engineer. Since then, Mr. Aponte has done projects of many different
styles and genres, from dance to classical, from ambient to rock, from album work and advertisement,
to film and soundtrack recording and surround mixing.
His work has won 5 Grammy nominations including best engineered album nominee Telecoteco by
Paula Morelenbaum.
Over the years he has recorded and worked with notable musicians such as Ryuichi Sakamoto,
Jaques Morelenbaum, Paula Morelenbaum, Joshua Bell, Judy Kan,
L. Subramaniam,
Aya Nishina, Becca Stevens, Tito Puente,
Arto Lindsay, Marisa Monte,

As an independent engineer Mr. Aponte has worked in many on New York's major
recording studios past and present, such as Avatar Studios, MSR Studios (formerly called
Right Track and Legacy Studios),
The Magic Shop, Soundtracks Recording, Unique Recording,
Quad Studios, The Bunker, Sound on Sound, Clinton Studios, Platinum Island, Axis Studios and
Downtown Studios, as well as Tokyo's prestigious Victor Studios and Bunkamura Studios and
Toronto's CBC Glen Gould Studio Theater amongst others.

As a writer, Mr. Aponte has created custom music for commercials and television and is
currently a freelance writer for TheHaus.TV in New York.
